Falamak Community Center
Project Outline
The site for the Falmak Neighborhood Center and District 7 Municipality is located at the intersection of Gol Afshan and Zarafshan Streets, on the eastern edge of the local park. The project accommodates two distinct programs: the Neighborhood Center, with its required micro-spaces, and the District 7 Municipality. The arrangement of these two functions within the project had to be designed in a way that would ensure the unity and coherence of the project’s spatial and volumetric composition, while allowing each to maintain its own functional and spatial independence.
Architectural Concept
The main design concept is based on exploiting the approximately 8-meter difference in elevation between the streets along the southern and western edges of the site, the park’s sunken terrain, and the residential area to the north. The project is conceived as a horizontal volume made permeable through a series of cuts. This volume contains a central void that connects to other carved-out spaces in the project’s section, creating a continuous and dynamic flow throughout the building. These voids gently draw the park’s ground and green spaces into the building, establishing a connection between the project and the park.

The functions of the District 7 Municipality are located on the ground and first floors, with direct connections to the southern and western streets, while the Neighborhood Center occupies the second floor, arranged around the central void and connected to the park and the residential area along the northern street. Both functions share an amphitheater with separate entrances and exits. The complex includes one level of covered parking with a capacity of 20 cars, three above-ground floors, and a total built-up area of approximately 2,000 square meters.
